On Thursday 19th January 2017 we held our first Drop Everything And Read period this year. For the previous two weeks every student had the opportunity to visit the library where Ms Reid spoke about the range of books available and encouraged students to borrow a book of their choice. D.E.A.R. time is one of this school's ways of encouraging reading and literacy among our students. Reading is a great way to relieve the stress of homework, study and exams.

Reading also builds up vocabulary and teaches students how a story is structured. These are very useful techniques to have in exams, especially in English exams or any exam that requires a lot of writing. The Drop Everything And Read period was very successful and hopefully we will have another very soon!
