About us

This Blog

We started this blog in September 2015 because we wanted to provide an opportunity for as many people as possible in the school community to share their love of books and reading.  The blog has a number of key aims.

  • To share enthusiasms from pupils, teachers and others about the books they are reading.

  • To note interesting, thought-provoking and relevant information about books and reading on other websites.

  • To publicise book related events that may be of interest to students, parents and staff.

  • To provide an opportunity for Drogheda Grammar School pupils to share some of their own writing.

  • To report on the range of literacy related activities and events that take place in the school.

  • To help parents, alumni and friends to keep in touch with Drogheda Grammar School, supplementing the official website.

There is no Frigate like a Book'
To take us Lands away
Nor any Coursers like a Page
Of prancing Poetry –
This Traverse may the poorest take
Without oppress of Toll –
How frugal is the Chariot
'That bears a Human soul
